  • Top Played Bands of 2012

If you’re new to Charnel House and not sure what to expect (or even if you’re not new to CH and wondered what we’ve been playing!) here are our top 50 played bands of 2012.  Of course, what we play on any given night is driven by the people who show up (either via requests or playing the right tracks for the crowd) so if we don’t play enough of what you want to hear, come along and request it (within reason : Goth, Post-Punk, Industrial, Darkwave, bands like the below, all fine…)

So, here we go… our top 50 played bands of 2012 (in alphabetical order).

Adam and The Ants, Bauhaus, The Beauty of Gemina, The Bolshoi, Celldweller, The Clash, Combichrist, The Cramps, The Cruxshadows, The Cult, The Cure, The Damned, The Dead Kennedys, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Dyonisis, Echo and the Bunnymen, Ending the Vicious Cycle, Faderhead, Fields of the Nephilim, Gary Numan, Jace Everett, Japan, Joy Division, Killing Joke, Lebanon Hanover, Lord of the Lost, The March Violets, Marilyn Manson, The Marionettes, miserylab, The Mission, New Model Army, O Children, The Prodigy, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Rosetta Stone, The Ruts, Sex Gang Children, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, Skeletal Family, The Smiths, Soft Cell, Suspiria, The Undertones, Virgin Prunes, Xmal Deutschland and of course… Lady Gaga

  • Jayce Lewis and Surgyn join Combichrist tour

I’m sure this is a moment some of you have been waiting for a while… I dunno what it is…. why is one of the first questions asked when a band/tour announced “Who is the Support?” ??

Well, anyway… the full line up is announced.  Combichrist (headline – you know the band you’re paying to see 😉 ) Jayce Lewis (Main Support – all dates) Surgyn (all dates) deadfilmstar (opening – Newcastle only)

All 3 bands were chosen by Combichrist to perform with them.  There’s a lot of difference in styles, so something for most electro fans.

    More under the cut…

  • deadfilmstar to open for Combichrist

Whilst we’re waiting for the hotly anticipated news on who the tour support for Combichrist may be, we have heard that the opening act for Newcastle, on June 25th 2012, will be deadfilmstar.

deadfilmstar hail from Coventry and have gigged extensively with acts such as KMFDM, Covenant, Toyah and even joined Mortiis and Gothminister for their 2006 tour.

However, this will be their first time in Newcastle!  Previously their luck has been a bit Ill-Fated (fans of the band will see what I did there… ha!) as they were due to perform with Killing Miranda in 2007, but they sadly split up causing the show to collapse and crossed-wires meant they were unable to open for Das Ich in 2009… but, third time lucky…

If you’re in the midlands area, they are considering a bus trip up, drop them a line if you’d be interested in joining them.

For everyone else : tickets for the show are selling well, but there are some still available.  Mosey into the local record shops, Charnel House in June or July, or online from seetickets.com or from the ‘store’ page on the Charnel House website.
