End-of-Term Alternative School Disco

chsummer06 copyYou may have heard us mention we were working on a little surprise for August. What we’ve come up with is shaping up to be one great night.

With schools and colleges and universities coming to a close for the summer, we had the idea of an ‘End of Term Disco’ – but with all the tunes you wanted to hear.

Let’s be honest – they were guff really, end of term discos. A sample of the top 40 and some of the usual hits from compilation albums. So, we’re going to go back to the proper alternative hits of the day : less Bananarama, more Bauhaus – Less Billy Joel, more Billy Idol – less ‘Don’t You Want Me?’ more ‘Being Boiled’ – less Prince more Pop Will Eat Itself – less Village People, more Virgin Prunes – you get the vibe. See Bart’s blackboard for more ideas of the sort of stuff we’ll play.

So the music policy is going to be more tunes from your youth really, providing of course that your youth was spent with backcombed hair and a Gothic attitude.

Now… because this is going back to being a student, we’re going to be charging everyone Rock Soc prices on the door. This means that for August we will be priced at just £2 entry.

You don’t have to dress up for this one (you didn’t have to for your school disco) but we’re not gonna stop you if you want to.
